Speaker

Our guest speaker this month will be Peter Dewhurst, Chair of the Board for Business Peak District.

Peter began his career running his own business before becoming the head of the University of Derby's Buxton-based operation; he subsequently served as both the University's Director of Strategic Partnerships and Projects.

Peter joined the Board of Business Peak District (BPD) back in 2011 and became Chair of the Board in April 2023. Since becoming chair he has overseen an extensive consultation exercise that has informed a refresh of BPD's aims, objectives and priorities for action, all of which are intended to support BPD's vision of a Peak District with a distinctive, high quality, rural environment and an enterprising, growing and sustainable economy in which businesses act with a social and environmental conscience.

Peter is keen to share BPD’s priorities for action with FSB members and to listen to their experiences of doing business in and from the Peak District. The input of FSB members will be used to inform BPD’s lobbying activities, not least in future discussions with the recently appointed Mayor of the East Midlands Combined County Authority.

We will also hear about the latest developments at the Peak District National Park Authority, who are our venue hosts for the evening.

You will be hosted by Debbie Porter, FSB volunteer and founder of Destination Digital. Free parking is available at the venue.

This event is supported by the Peak District National Park.

Please note, we will need to let the venue know of any dietary requirements one week prior to the event and therefore cannot guarantee any dietary requirements after that time.
