Key topics:

  • Employees to be able to claim unfair dismissal from day one of employment, increasing the potential for tribunals.
  • New rights to statutory leave and pay from day one of employment, including expanding statutory sick pay to more workers and to the first day of sickness, and formal flexible working as a default.
  • Ending zero-hours contracts, including in key sectors that rely on them such as hospitality and tourism.
