FSB Talks: Southampton are an opportunity to hear short talks on a range of business topics, and enjoy some networking.

Join us at Barclays Eagle Lab for an info packed event featuring 3 different speakers plus the opportunity to network with other delegates. At this event, 3 short presentations will cover business and skills advice, content marketing, and how to thrive. There will also be opportunities for networking with other delegates.

This event is second of a series of in-person FSB Talks events at Barclays Eagle Lab Southampton.

Our speakers are:

Jodi Fair from Solent Apprenticeship and Skills Hub

Jodi will be talking about the launch of Solent Business and Skills Solutions, a free service offered by Southampton City Council and Portsmouth City Council, providing a range of services to help businesses succeed across the Southampton and Portsmouth areas. The team of experienced professionals offer free, impartial advice and guidance to support you as needed.

This service also encompasses assistance with implementing net-zero practices to reduce their carbon footprint, upskilling through Navigatr badges for both new and existing staff, facilitating apprenticeships, and fostering a fair and inclusive workplace environment through the Good Work Charter.

Emily Braithwaite, Yellow Tuxedo

Emily will be delivering a talk titled: Mastering Content Magic: Adding Value Beyond Education for Ultimate Engagement.

“You’re never going to get people to listen to you never mind work with you unless you add value to them” was a recent comment we received which sparked a brilliant conversation about the ultimate ‘value” of content and what that should look like in real life for small business owners.

Contrary to popular belief “value” added content does not always have to educate or inform your current audience to make an impact and ultimately convert them into customers.

In this short talk Emily will take you through the four core types of content marketing and will illustrate how you can build strong engagement and awareness with your audience beyond educational or sales based content in a way that feels comfortable to you.

Becky Davis, Founder and Coach at Fantastic People

As a Leadership and Wellbeing Coach Becky is used to working with people to help them be the best version of themselves.  But how has she become the best (better) version of herself and got stuff done in her business over the last 2 years through a period of huge distraction (think covid, home schooling, divorce, 5 house moves, solo parenting).

When Becky coaches she facilitates a thinking space for others to help themselves, this talk is about how she helped herself to create a thriving coaching practice that financially supports her and her son, and how you can choose to do the same in your business, whatever that might be.

Becky shares her best practical tips for how she consistently shows up in her business, stays focused on what brings results and has built a solid reputation in her coaching practise.  But most importantly how she manages to keep a sense of humour throughout it all!

Expect a lively 10 minutes of storytelling, practical tips, how to make a plan and most importantly, how to stick to that plan!
