Join us for our new Northamptonshire Business Bitesize: Local business updates and insights. At these localised events, we'll focus discussion on bitesize updates, business opportunities, issues and available support in our area, and as well as guest speakers there will be a chance to meet local business contacts.

Speakers

Sally Wood: Sally has been the FSB Area Leader and virtual networking host in Northamptonshire for a number of years, since setting up as a self-employed finance director shortly before Covid. Recently Sally was given the new role of East Midlands representative on FSBs national policy committee, meaning she brings local issues to the national table which helps FSBs Westminster lobbying team, as well as informs our research reports. Sally will give an update and invite discussion on some of the key issues which are affecting businesses right now.

Clare Elsby: Alongside co-founding and growing a successful and well-known accounting firm in Northants, Clare has been an FSB volunteer for many years, speaking out about small business issues to politicians and policymakers and encouraging small businesses to become early adopters of digital tech, apps and the cloud using her experience of the practical uses and outcomes for her firm’s clients.
Clare has just been made chair of the FSBs UK Innovation policy committee which works to ensure that innovation support is accessible, relevant and productive for the UK’s 5million small businesses. The FSB has recently undertaken member research on small business Innovation, Digital Technology uptake and AI which has given us a lot to work with. We’ll discuss the local level for Northamptonshire- what are the opportunities, challenges and key features in our area. Clare will give you some food for thought and action, leading into the networking discussion on how you achieve competitive edge.
