Fflur Lawton - Head of Policy & Public Affairs

Fflur heads up the policy and public affairs work of Smart Energy GB. She is responsible for engaging parliamentarians and stakeholders from across the public, private and third sectors and sharing information on smart meters, the rollout and the smart energy future. Prior to joining Smart Energy GB, Fflur developed her career at the Big Lottery Fund. Working there for over 10 years she held a variety of roles including Head of Communications and Senior Head of Corporate Management. A fluent Welsh speaker, she started her career working in the third sector developing environmental projects with communities across Wales.

Jane Wilson - Chief Operating Officer, Hildebrand Technology

Jane is the COO at Hildebrand; Hildebrand are recognised as innovators in both the domestic and non-domestic markets building on their expertise with energy data, measuring devices and analytics to support the drive to net zero. Clients include the Isle of Man, Drax and Transport for London.

Working in the non-domestic energy space since 2018, Jane is well aware of the multiple challenges facing small businesses as they manage high costs with little time to think about energy – yet still wanting to play a role in the et Zero transition. She believes that providing transparency to energy consumption is a start in supporting better informed decision-making, but a lot more needs to be done to help organisations without dedicated resources better manage their energy. 

Paul Wilson - Policy Director, Federation of Small Businesses

Paul Wilson is the Policy Director at FSB where his team aims to provide a voice for the UK’s 5.5 million small businesses and the self-employed. Paul’s team publishes regular reports on a range of topics that affect small businesses, including FSB’s quarterly confidence report – the Small Business Index. Other recent research topics have included tax, finance, and energy. Prior to joining FSB, Paul was a director at the Law Society.

Matt Dass - Managing Director, Springfield Solutions – an All4Labels Packaging Group Company & Eon Visual Media Limited

For over 30 years Matt has developed innovative digital media solutions for blue chip multi-national clients. From original idea generation through to design, brand management, digital print, interactive and immersive media. Matt is the Managing Director of 2 businesses based in Hull; Springfield Solutions & Eon Visual Media. In 2023 Springfield were named ‘Environmental Company of the Year’ at the digital labels & packaging awards. Matt is a member of the steering group for OH Yes! Net Zero, an initiative setup to decarbonise the Humber region which is the UK’s largest emitter of carbon out of the 6 main UK industrial clusters.
