Since 1974, the Federation of Small Businesses has made the voice of small businesses and the self-employed heard at the highest levels of Government across the UK.

As an FSB member, you’re invited to take part in our unique online survey programme, Big Voice. By sharing your experiences and views, you’ll make a real difference and help improve the environment in which small businesses and the self-employed operate. The findings result in FSB’s quarterly Small Business Index (SBI), which helps inform decisions taken by every sphere of government.

You’ll be invited to take part in surveys about specific issues that affect your business, from tax to energy. We will use the findings to set out recommendations to policymakers through our published reports as well as through other activity. The Big Voice survey programme gives us powerful evidence of the direct impact of policy decisions on small businesses, based on the real-life experiences of our members.

How long does it take?

It only takes a few minutes to sign up, and then once a month we’ll invite you to a survey relevant to you and your business. Each survey will take around 10 minutes. Once you’ve signed up to Big Voice, general questions about you and your business will already be saved for the next survey.

Where can I see the survey results?

We publish our survey data in our policy reports and highlight them in our media work. If you take part in our surveys we will also email you when we’ve published the results.

Who carries out the surveys?

Big Voice is managed by Verve, an independent market research company. They undertake all our polls, surveys and discussions in the unique online research community.

Can I sign up if I’m not an FSB member?

I truly appreciate the wide breadth of opportunities offered by FSB, the team are really supportive and the Big Voice initiative is so valuable.
