Angel Investor Programme Connects Tech Businesses and Finance Experts in the Great South West

Local News 19 Dec 2023

The newly launched Angel Investor Programme aims to establish a community of angel investors to support the tech sector by catalysing growth, fostering diversity, and addressing funding challenges.

Brought to you by Tech South West, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth Hub, Heart of the South West Growth Hub, Dorset Growth Hub, North Devon Council, Torridge District Council, and the British Business Bank, this initiative will operate from October 2023 to March 2024, offering a jam-packed programme to:

  • Educate and support 40 new angel investors for the region.
  • Foster diversity within the investment community.
  • Generate an anticipated £2.8 million of angel investment annually, resulting in a total funding boost of £9 million.
  • Support 68 individuals in becoming investor-ready through the UKBAA's online Angel Education Programme.
  • Establish four new Angel Groups, including one dedicated to women investors.
  • Provide valuable access to the angel community for 50 founders and startups.

Through key team members, including a 'Super Connector' and an 'Angel Lead’, the Angel Investor Programme targets professional services firms, private banks, wealth managers, Chamber of Commerce memberships, and second home communities.

By establishing close partnerships with local incubators, accelerators, science parks, universities, clusters, and other key players in the tech ecosystem, this initiative will identify investment opportunities and foster connections within the newly formed angel community.

Whether you’re an investor, seeking investment, or a founder or startup on your journey to becoming investor-ready, Tech South West invites you to get involved with the Angel Investor Programme by emailing [email protected]
