FSB Member Stories: Brian Mullan, Dirty Cars Wanted

FSB Member Story 22 May 2023

With a purpose-built workshop, mobile valeting units, mobile fleet wash division, and even their own brand of car care materials, Brian Mullan takes us behind the scenes at Dirty Cars Wanted.

Brian Mullan is a director at Dirty Cars Wanted in Belfast, Northern Ireland, which offers car valeting services and care care products. Originally started in 1989, Brian and his business partner took ownership in 1999 with the aim of building a business with a strong brand and a focus on delivering a high level of customer service that they believed was lacking in the sector.

“Through continuous investment, we have grown a successful business that has been a market leader in delivering continuous improvements as well as being at the forefront in introducing technology to enhance the customer experience. As a business we have developed and adapted our services in line with market opportunities with an example being the introduction of a mobile fleet wash division in 2017 which trades under the name Fleet Wash Ireland,” says Brian.

“As a small business, we were growing and needed to start employing staff. This was a daunting task as we hadn’t previously employed any staff and didn’t have any personal experience in our previous employment. We spoke with other businesses, and they pointed us in the direction of FSB who made the process easier with advice on recruitment, interviewing, and providing the templates of the necessary documents,” explains Brian.
