Opportunities to supply your local council

During April, FSB worked with Wiltshire Council to offer local small businesses the opportunity to find out more about how to supply Wiltshire Council and to get a share of the £101 million they spend with small businesses each year. The Council held two events in Salisbury and Corsham at The Enterprise centre sites to speak to an audience of local small businesses and to answer questions.

The council’s spend is spread across a broad range of purchases from house clearance to body bags. If the project or item costs less that £177,000 then Council staff just need to get quotes not put the opportunity out to tender. If you’d like to get on the council’s radar for work then why not email them and introduce yourself and your business? If you’d like to hear about the opportunities available to you from the Council then you can either take a look at their current list of contracts to see when they expire, or register on the Supplying the South West portal to get alerts.

We are now speaking to Somerset Council about a couple of events in September to discuss opportunities with them. Do keep an eye on our monthly newsletter to find out more as details emerge.
