FSB Business Bootcamp: Make your small business count

To mark the 50-year anniversary of FSB, we're helping small businesses from across Essex to make their business count on Tuesday 17 September.

Sponsored by Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisers, Rickard Luckin, and supported by Event Essex, FSB is delighted to announce their very first Small Business Bootcamp for Essex!

Held at the University of Essex's landmark building of Essex Business School, with a unique indoor winter garden, the day will be packed full of insightful guest speakers, valuable panel discussions, practical workshops and opportunities to network with like-minded small business owners and entrepreneurs.

Hosted by FSB East of England Regional Chair, David Bell, speakers include:

  • James Sinclair, on his business journey and how he saved the Middleton’s party business
  • Luke Morton, The Juice Guy, on his business journey and wellbeing for business owners
  • Mat Parkins on how to save 20 minutes a day with AI
  • FSB Award Winners Vanlife Conversions and Stort Valley Gifting
  • Two panels, made up of FSB members, discussing current business challenges and trends to look out for in 2025

Tickets are £5 for FSB members and £10 for non-members, which includes refreshments.

FSB Essex Summer Social

Meet with like-minded entrepreneurs, self-employed people and small business owners at Marco's Spanish Restaurant and Wine Bar on Rayleigh High Street on Wednesday 24 July.

Drop-in any time between 15.00pm and 18.00pm at this informal networking event, which is open to FSB members and non-members, for some delicious Paella and Sangria whilst you expand your network (and waistline!)

Member tickets for this event are £10 and non-member tickets are £12. The ticket price includes meat and seafood paella, vegetarian paella (gluten free as well), an arrival drink of sangria, tea, or coffee.

FSB helped save owner, Mark Worship, £40,000 - £50,000 via our legal protection scheme, so is hosting our Summer Social as a thank you!

Backing Essex Business are fully funded by Essex County Council and provide free advice, (up to 12 hours of professional advice on finance, marketing, and recruitment), access to business finance and various training programmes/events. They also provide loans for business growth/Start-Ups and deliver Recovery Loans of up to £150k.

Their Blueprint for Business programme is back for a second year and is free for business in North Essex. The series of bespoke workshops, webinars and one to one events are designed to help you map out your journey to achieving your business goal.
