Cardiff Takes Pole Position as the Top City in the UK to Start a Business

Cardiff ranks as the UK’s leading hub for business growth in 2025, surpassing traditional economic powerhouses such as London and Manchester, according to new research conducted by private and commercial bank Arbuthnot Latham, which has revealed business density hotspots by analysing average population against companies registered in the last two years. According to the newly launched Business Growth Index, Cardiff has the highest business density in the country, seeing one new business registered for every 10 residents. The findings come as entrepreneurial activity surges across the UK, with nearly a million new businesses registered nationwide – a 34% increase from the previous year.

An Introduction To Immersive Technology Course

University of Wales Trinity Saint David, are running a course to help your business unlock the potential of Immersive Technologies. This online course takes place over 10 lessons, allowing participants to learn at their own pace, and will explore the fundamentals of immersive technology, addressing common misconceptions and delving into the core element of Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR) and Virtual Reality (VR). Most importantly, by the end of the course, the emphasis will be on how these skills can be applied within an industry and business setting, supporting both business and personal development.

Careers Wales Personal Learning Account Programme

The Personal Learning Account (PLA) Programme provides support across Wales for eligible individuals for gain higher level skills, enabling them to access a wider range of job opportunities. By providing flexible and fully funded learning, online or face-to-face, the chance to study towards gaining new skills and qualifications aligned to sectors with skills shortages including Net Zero & Green Technologies, Digital Skills, Logistics, Manufacturing, Hospitality and Health & Social Care. All available courses through the PLA Programme are funded by the Welsh Government.
