Want to connect with Universities?

Join us on Tuesday 12 Nov for the next meeting of our FSB West Yorkshire Academia-Industry Network. This is part of a series of online networking and learning events hosted by FSB volunteers aimed at connecting business owners with our Universities. The host is small business owner and FSB member, Audrey Zannese. Our speakers are Emma Knight-Strong, Sustainability Adviser and Founder of Green Arch Consulting. Emma's talk will be focus on the rise of ESG in finance and the impact that is having on businesses. Fran Parkinson, SME Engagement Manager and Professor Lebene Soga, Professor of Entrepreneurship & Management Practice from Leeds Beckett University will be speaking on The Knowledge Exchange and how they support innovation and growth.

Hold the Date – FSB Yorkshire Bootcamp – 20 May 2025, CAST Theatre, Doncaster.

After this year’s success, we have decided to make a return visit to Doncaster to host another day of inspiration and practical advice for small businesses in the region. This event is open to FSB members from across the region and beyond.  Further details for booking coming soon. In the meantime, if you’re interested in taking one of our limited stand spaces, these are discounted to £75 + VAT for FSB members – email Hayley Gallimore to express an interest.

Are you an SME looking to grow, network, and learn from industry leaders and peers?

On 10 Dec at Tileyard North, Wakefield, the Business Growth Gathering, will bring 400 business owners together. This free event is organised by Ad:Venture and features panel discussions, introductions to support and resources and a networking lunch. This event is open to all businesses, and they welcome anyone who wants to connect, collaborate and grow.

Monday 11 to Friday 15 Nov is International Trade Week. If you are thinking about expand your international trade, this is a chance to access free events, workshops, and webinars. It is led by the Department for Business and Trade.

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority can pay up to 90% of the course fees for digital Skills Bootcamp to help your workforce increase productivity and bring new and innovative ideas to your business.

There is a range of skills courses available, designed to fill the digital skills gaps of local businesses.

A new tool for Yorkshire puts expert advice directly into the hands of business owners. Yorkshire Ready Together is an accessible, free, conversational tool that helps users find the information they need so they can be prepared for emergencies and resilient when they happen. 

Built using the expert knowledge of responder agencies, this constantly evolving tool aims to help businesses, communities and individuals fully prepare for different types of emergencies. These emergencies can include things like power outages, cyber-attacks, pandemics, residential fires or severe weather.
