Supporting FSB Members in Salisbury

Your FSB Somerset and Wiltshire team out and about in Salisbury

FSB Wiltshire Development Manager, Ruth Lambert and Operational Support Coordinator, Beth Doel, visited Salisbury in May to meet local Membership Adviser, Chris Austwick. They used this visit as an opportunity to meet local FSB Members and also those considering joining, to discuss the issues facing their businesses in the city.

Key issues highlighted were:

  • Access to loading bays and the blocking of them by private users
  • Concerns about future pedestrianisation of the city
  • The planned relocation of business bins currently placed outside premises
  • The forthcoming arrival of the new department store Bradbeers
  • Antisocial behaviour by street drinkers
  • Getting planning permission to update shop fronts
  • Business rate relief
  • Cycle lanes and much more!

It was great to hear from local members about things affecting their daily lives and as a result we were able to raise many of these points at a meeting we arranged with Councillor Richard Clewer, the Leader of Wiltshire Council when we met him at the Bourne Hill Council Offices. As an FSB member don’t forget your local team is here to support you, so do get in touch if you have any pressing issues you think we should be aware of.
