This December, the Federation of Small Businesses are asking people across Wales to commit to spending at least £10 locally with a small business and to share on social media what makes that business special using the hashtag #10PoundPledge #10PuntLeol.
Participating in this campaign can help:
- Boost local economies: Encourage others to support small businesses in their community.
- Showcase local businesses: Highlight the unique offerings of small businesses.
- Ensure local businesses feel valued: Thank small businesses for their contributions to our communities.
Ben Cottam, Head of Wales at the Federation of Small Businesses, said:
“As we enter the festive period, this is a fantastic opportunity to thank our small businesses for their contributions to our communities and to encourage consumers to shop locally.
“Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy and we know that more money is recirculated in the local economy when it is spent at a local independent shop, rather than at a national chain store.
“That's why the Federation of Small Businesses are asking everyone to get involved with our #10PoundPledge. By spending at least £10 with a local business this festive period and sharing on social media what makes this business special, we can make a real difference.
“Given the impact of severe weather disruptions experienced in recent weeks, it is more important than ever that we think local as we all work through the last of our shopping lists over the days to come.
“Remember, many small businesses use online platform as part of their business, so shopping small doesn’t have to mean ruling out online shopping.
“This is about supporting the town centre spaces we want to see and preserving the heart and soul of our communities. Let us know how you are getting involved by using the hashtag #10PoundPledge #10PuntLeol.”
