Businesses in the West of England – Bath, Bristol and South Gloucestershire – have been invited to apply for two match-funded grants which will help improve the efficiency of their buildings and make them cheaper to run and more sustainable.
Firstly, rooftop solar grants from £15,000 to £50,000 are available to businesses to install panels on their premises. You can apply for a grant of up to 30 per cent towards eligible capital costs of purchase and installation of the solar photovoltaic (PV) panels. The resulting energy generation will help to cut greenhouse gas emissions and energy costs. More details – including eligibility information – are available here.
The second grant is for between £15,000-£30,000 for businesses to install air-to-water, ground-to-water, or water-to-water heat pumps on their premises. The ‘Heat Pump Grant’ is aimed at SMEs and registered charities to replace old, inefficient fossil fuel heating systems. For this one you will need to provide at least 40 per cent match funding towards the project. For more information see here.
In both cases if your grant request is for less than £15,000, you are encouraged to investigate the West of England Combined Authority and West of England Growth Hub general 'Green Business Grants' funding. More information available here.
